Hello and welcome to our September 2024 Newsletter! Well, it is looking like summer has passed us by and we are speeding towards Autumn and the equinox. August has been another busy month with events and lots of trade orders. Always makes us happy to see people enjoying our products!

No product of the month this time as we haven’t had chance to sort one – sorry!
News from the Meadery
We have had to withdraw Baldur from sale as he has decided to do another Malo Lactic Fermentation (MLF) – gone cloudy. We are leaving him for a little while to do his thing and turned our attention to bottling and fermenting. We managed to get Aegir, Viking’s Blood and Rhubarb bottled. As you can imagine, stocks of Viking’s Blood flew straight out of the door!
Here’s a sneak peak into a couple of new lines we will be stocking shortly. All made by Candles of All Ages, makers of the finest tallow candles to various museums and other establishments including Hampton Court Palace!
Made from 100% beeswax, we have the Dragon’s Head, GoT chair and beehive ready for your gifting pleasure! They will be available in the webshop after our break.
I have managed to get a couple of ferments going, including a new batch of Valhalla’s Mead. It might be ready in time for Jorvik Viking Festival in February 2025 – but no guarantees.
We traded at the World Double Bit Axe Throwing Championships held at Thirsk racecourse over the Bank Holiday weekend. It was such a fantastic event and we met lots of new people from all over the world – many taking our products back with them! Mrs Mead did the ‘have a go’ – more than a little scary – think it has given her ideas!
Once again we have depleted stocks – always a common theme here! We have some more flavours to get bottled and another fermentation to get going. Mrs Mead is cracking that whip as she is now counting down the weeks until Jorvik – only seven weeks after Christmas!
But first, we are taking a well-earned rest, so the Meadery is physically closed until September 9th.
Our next trading events are listed below. The full list can be found here.
